TULLAMARINE, AUSTRALIA – November 4, 2009: Since opening the doors of a brand new dealership in Maroochydore recently, Sunshine Coast Honda has enjoyed an eight percent increase in sales.

Dealer Principal Phil Drinnan attributes the growth in sales to the improved customer proposition offered by the new Maroochydore site and the flow-on effect of the Federal Government’s business tax incentive.

Despite the recent industry slowdown, Mr Drinnan says interest from local car buyers has remained strong.

“At Sunshine Coast Honda we’ve actually bucked the trend and seen an increase in operations. Things certainly improved as a result of the Government stimulus and we are confident this trend will continue until the end of the year,” he said.

Mr Drinnan, who has been involved with the Honda brand for almost 25 years, is certain that recent investment in the site will reap significant ongoing benefit.

“Since the launch of the new dealership, sales have increased by another seven to eight percent and I believe this growth will continue. There are always opportunities, even in tough times. If you are doing the right thing by your customers you will be rewarded,” he said.

According to Mr Drinnan, the key for dealers is to look beyond the short-term and take advantage of ongoing opportunities offered by the Honda brand. “Sunshine Coast Honda is definitely working towards a long-term growth strategy. We have a succession plan in place and are currently looking at opportunities for further expansion within the state and I am confident the Honda brand will continue to sell itself.”

Sunshine Coast Honda joins many other Honda dealers who have invested more than $60 million in creating new or redeveloping existing Honda dealerships over the past year.
