Toyota's Lentz, Ford's Farley Added to Automaker Panel at NADA/IHS Global Insight Automotive Forum 2010
NEW YORK--Toyota’s James Lentz and Ford’s Jim Farley have been added to an expert panel of top automaker executives who will offer their insight and perspectives on the auto industry at the NADA/IHS Global Insight Automotive Forum 2010 on March 30 in New York. The forum is hosted by the New York International Auto Show.
“Automotive Advertising: Leveraging the Internet as an 'Influencing Medium'”
Lentz, president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., and Farley, group vice president, global marketing and Canada, Mexico and South America operations for Ford Motor Co., will join a panel which includes Stefan Jacoby, president and chief executive officer of Volkswagen Group of America; John Mendel, executive vice president of automotive sales for American Honda Motor Co.; and Jim O'Donnell, president of BMW of North America. Mike Jackson, chairman and chief executive officer of AutoNation, will moderate the Manufacturers Perspective panel.
The day-long event features discussions on the Transformation of the U.S. Economy and the Auto Industry and brings together industry thought leaders to evaluate how recent events will impact automotive stakeholders in the coming decade. The forum offers a mixture of presentations and panels to explore in depth how the events of the past will influence the future from an automaker, supplier, retail and media perspective.
Fiat/Chrysler Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne, widely heralded as a turn-around artist for returning Fiat to financial health earlier in the decade, will kick off the forum at the Marriott Marquis Hotel with a keynote address at 9:30 a.m. Fiat joined forces with Chrysler last year.
James Kamsickas, president and chief executive officer of International Automotive Components (IAC) North America and Asia, a multi-billion dollar supplier to the automotive industry, will be the keynote speaker on issues affecting the supplier industry. Neil DeKoker, president and chief executive officer of OESA, will moderate a Supplier Perspectives panel featuring Laurie Harbour, president of Harbour Results, Inc., and John Weber, president and chief executive officer of Remy International.
John Casesa, managing partner of Casesa Shapiro Group, will moderate the Retailer Perspective panel discussion, which will include NADA Chairman Ed Tonkin, a multi-franchise dealer from Portland, Ore. Tonkin will also deliver opening remarks.
Among the other speakers for the forum are Chip Perry, chief executive officer of AutoTrader.com; Earl Hesterberg, chief executive officer of Group 1 Automotive; and Nariman Behravesh, chief economist of IHS. Alex Taylor, senior editor of Fortune, will moderate a media panel discussion.
