BINGHAM FARMS, Michigan May 14, 2010; Ford and Honda continued to show strength in the resurgent automotive industry as they earned top honors in the 6th annual Vincentric Best Value in America™ awards announced earlier today. Both companies garnered 6 awards, with Ford’s high-end Lincoln MKS and MKT vehicles complementing the strong showing from Ford’s heavy duty pickups. Honda’s six awards were led by two five-time winners, the Accord and the Civic, and the CR-V which won its fourth Vincentric award. BMW, General Motors, and Toyota also did well, with each organization having four award winning vehicles.

“Vincentric’s 2010 Best Value in America awards clearly demonstrate how improvement in factors that positively impact consumer value translates into sales success.” commented David Wurster , President of Vincentric. “We’ve seen this in the past with Honda and Toyota. The new story for 2010 is how Ford, Hyundai and Kia have been able to apply this formula. All three of these brands are growing sales while providing class leading value.” he added.

Vincentric measures cost-of-ownership using eight different cost factors: depreciation, fuel, insurance, opportunity cost, financing, maintenance, taxes and state fees, and repairs. Using a statistical model, the company identified the Best Value in America by measuring which vehicles had a lower than expected ownership cost given their market segment and price. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus DC using a range of annual mileage intervals and insurance profiles.

The categories and the winners of Vincentric’s Best Value in America™ for the 2010 model are available at www.vincentric.com, with Vincentric awards for Advanced Fuel Technology vehicles to be announced later this month.
