Fast & Furious Sale at British Car Auctions sees more than £7 million worth of cars go under the hammer

FARNHAM, UNITED KINGDOM – Jun 8, 2010: A Bugatti Veyron, one of the world’s most desirable supercars, which went for a staggering £625,000, was the star car in a sell-out sale of 400 sports cars, coupes, performance vehicles, motorcycles and convertibles at leading vehicle auction company, British Car Auctions (BCA) sale at Blackbushe on Saturday 5th June.

The fantastic selection of stock was entered for sale by Lex Autolease and Black Horse and represented one of the most valuable open sales of contemporary vehicles ever staged in the UK. Nearly 400 buyers registered for the sale at Blackbushe, with a further 231 bidding via BCA’s Live Online internet service. Every vehicle on offer was sold in the sale which turned over a phenomenal £7 million!

The undoubted star of the Fast & Furious sale was the 2006 Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4. As BCA’s UK Operations Director Simon Henstock brought down the hammer on the Bugatti, there was a spontaneous round of applause from the buyers crammed into Auction Hall 1 at Blackbushe. It represented a UK record value for a modern production car at auction and the highest value ever achieved by BCA on one vehicle.

Other notable highlights in the sale included a pair of Ferrari F430 F1 models – a 2008-registered left-hand drive example that sold for £69,500 at 28,000 kms and a 2005 right-hand drive car at 10,000 miles that sold for £71,000.
