Today, roughly 51.2 percent of women under 30 on LeaseTrader.com drive a luxury vehicle compared with 42.6 percent back in 2005.

The announcement comes on the heels of several recent findings that show women gaining or surpassing men in certain financial and academic areas. According to 2008 U.S. Census Bureau data analyzed by a New York research firm, women ages 22 to 30 now earn eight percent more than men in metro areas. The Council of Graduate Schools also released data recently showing women earning the majority of doctoral degrees in the U.S.
