Luxgen EV+ Appointed As The Official Green Shuttle For 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition

XINDIAN CITY – November 19, 2010: The 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo is the first international Expo to take place in Taiwan, and host city Taipei city is the 7th Asian city approved by AIPH to host the International Flora Expo in Asia. Luxgen, the first independent Taiwanese automotive brand devoted to the development of intelligent IT and electric propulsion technology has given its full support by supplying 20 of its cutting-edge full electric EV+ vehicles to serve the green shuttle services during 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.

Mr. K.C. Hu, CEO of Luxgen, stated: “This is the latest episode of Luxgen’s green technology campaign after entering the National Day parade with Taiwan’s first full electric parade float and following its participation in both the 5th Alternative Energy & Transportation Expo in the US, and the Low Carbon Emission Expo in Taiwan.

During the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, Luxgen’s full electric EV+ will serve exclusively as the zero emission green shuttles for tourists from all over the world and provide a great opportunity for the general public to experience the beauty of the full electric vehicles and advanced IT technology developed by Luxgen. These green shuttles will also serve as a testimony for Taiwan’s leadership position in electric propulsion technology development and rapid adaptation.

During the 6 months duration of the expo, Luxgen expects its EV+ models will accumulate more than 350,000 km of real world usage and allow more than 100,000 passengers from around the world to experience the future of the public and personal transportation for the first time in their life.

The efficiency of the electric vehicles is around twice as high as the conventional gasoline-powered vehicles and also is around 70% higher than hybrid vehicles. When renewable energies are used to generate the electricity, the total energy conversion rate can reach to a high percentage of 80% to echo the eco-friendly and green focuses of the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.

The Luxgen EV+ models are powered by 150kW motors (201 hp and 220N-m torque) to far exceed the dynamic performance of most competing electric vehicles currently available.

The three Luxgen models participated in the shuttle services, Luxgen7 MPV, Luxgen7 SUV, and Luxgen7 CEO will wear a special 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo-themed livery and a signature blue exterior colour to signify their successful adaptation of green energy. Furthermore, Luxgen is the first automobile brand to meet and exceed all government safety and regulatory requirements through various crash tests and safety certification procedures for all of its full electric models and every vehicle entered for the event are officially registered and licensed for public road use. The tourists are all welcomed to board the Luxgen EV+ electric shuttles and tour between the venues and pavilions of the expo to enjoy the freedom of carbon-free mobility.
