LUTON, UNITED KINGDOM – December 3, 2010: The contribution of Vauxhall Fleet Sales Director Maurice Howkins to the UK’s fleet industry has been recognised at a ceremony of the country’s leading figures from the sector.

At the annual gathering of the Fleet News FN50, the largest lease vehicle operators in the UK, Fleet News editor Stephen Briers welcomed Maurice into the prestigious Fleet News Hall of Fame. Maurice, who is one of just nine people selected to join this elite group, was described by Briers as “extremely well known and respected in the industry”.

“We launched the Fleet News Hall of Fame award at the Fleet News Awards last year to recognise and honour those people that have made an outstanding contribution to the fleet sector during their career,” said Briers. “Through his leadership of its fleet operation, Maurice Howkins has ensured Vauxhall has remained one of the biggest names and a market leader in the fleet sector.”

“It is an honour to be recognised by Fleet News and my peers, and I am very grateful for this accolade,” said Maurice. “However, it is the sustained strength of Vauxhall’s product and the dedication of the fleet team to deliver it which has underpinned our fleet achievements. Vauxhall understands the product requirements of our fleet customers and will continue its commitment to delivering them to market.”
