Mazda Australia Presented With Volume Increase Award

VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA – March 24, 2011: Mazda Motor Corporation has recognized Mazda Australia as one of its star performers as a result of continued volume increases and a record 2010 sales result.

This recognition is a vote of confidence in Mazda Australia and its dealer network and places Australia firmly amongst the leading markets in a global Mazda network spanning over 100 countries.

The Volume Increase Award is presented to distributors who have shown the most significant growth in the last year.

Mazda Australia achieved a new all-time sales record in 2010 by delivering 84,777 new vehicles, an increase of 4,951 or 6.2 per cent over its previous best set in 2008. This result gave Mazda Australia an 8.2 per cent market share in 2010 and secured its position as Australia’s top-selling import brand for a sixth consecutive year.

Last year was the latest in a long-line of sales records for Mazda as the company has seen 208 per cent growth from the 27,505 sales it secured in 2000.

A number of initiatives in recent years by Mazda Australia’s customer service and loyalty teams has improved the Mazda ownership experience and increased the number of customers who stay loyal to the Mazda brand.

Mazda dealers have also played a starring role and significant investment in dealership facilities over the past few years has ensured that Mazda customers continue to receive the best possible sales and service experience.

Mazda Motor Corporation managing executive officer and general manager of overseas sales, Yuji Nakamine said, “Despite uncertain global economic conditions remaining and a competitive Australian market, Mazda Australia has achieved outstanding sales results and greatly encouraged the entire Mazda group.”
