SYDNEY – April 21, 2011: There will be as much to interest spectators off, as well as on the track at the 35th Historic Winton over the May 28-29 weekend this year.

With the meeting celebrating 100 years of Chevrolet, Stutz and the Indianapolis 500, 90 years of Amilcar and Salmson, 75 years of the Fiat 500, 60 years of the Triumph Mayflower and 50 years of the E-Type Jaguar and MG

Midget, the circuit near Benalla in Central Victoria will be a Mecca for motoring enthusiasts.

The greatest concentration of special vehicles will be found in the ever-expanding Shannons Classic Car Park, which this year will see club and bike displays of many of the anniversary marques and models.

A huge Chevrolet turnout is expected, along with Fiat 500 Topolinos from 1936-1955 and Fiat Nuova Bambinos built from 1957-1972.

Anyone with a classic or special interest car or bike is welcome to join the display over the weekend.

The Shannons Classic Car Park has been a growing feature of Historic Winton meetings in recent years.

In vehicle numbers it will rival this year’s non-stop on-circuit program for 400 historic racing cars and motorbikes built from the 1920s to 1980s.

As in previous years, the meeting will be conducted by the Austin 7 Club with assistance from the Historic Motorcycle Racing Association Vic.

Raceway entry fees are: Sat $20, Sun $30, Competition Paddock $5, Children 14 and under no charge.
