Noblesville, May 17, 2011: For the 23rd consecutive year, Noblesville, Indiana resident and former driver, Derek Daly will provide expert analysis from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for WISH-TV, CH 8, Indianapolis. This is by far the longest continuous run ever by a motorsport analyst. Many drivers get involved at various levels in television broadcasting both during and after their racing careers, but very few have Daly's staying power. 2011 will be his 27th year in television broadcasting for what he believes to be the most complex sport in the world.

"Derek brings to WISH-TV a dimension that is rare in sports broadcasting - an unrivaled knowledge with an ability to always be informative by keeping things simple. He is very direct and not afraid to give his opinion. Our viewers know that with Derek, they always get a solid opinion, whether they agree with it or not", said Jeff White, General Manager, WISH-TV.

In 1985, while recovering from serious injuries, Daly started a ten year association with ESPN before also working for CBS Sports, NBC Sports, SPEED, FOX Sports and Network TEN Australia.

"I enjoy bringing to life stories about people and teams who are participating in one of the most difficult and complex sports in the world", said Daly. "This year at Indy I believe we will see significant names not make the race and if the weather stays dry, we will have the tightest field in the history of the event. We will enjoy bringing some of those stories to life directly from the pit lane".

Daly's first exposure to television broadcasting was with the legendary voice of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the late Tom Carnegie. Carnegie worked with WRTV-Ch 6 in Indianapolis and used Daly as his analyst in 1984.
