MELBOURNE – June 20, 2011: Subaru will display the ultimate motorsport Liberty, the B4 GT300, at the Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne from 1-10 July.

The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Liberty B4 GT300 has been developed as a pure racing car by R&D Sport, in Atsugi city.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “Visitors to our stand in Melbourne will see we’ve got a ‘performance corner’, which will include this amazing sleek Liberty race car, which is a highlight of the GT300 series in Japan.

“We’ll also have a WRX STI racing car simulator, where visitors can try and set a lap record against some fierce competition at the famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany.”

WRX and WRX STI will also be among the performance Subarus on display.

The Liberty B4 GT300 engine is supplied by Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru Tecnica International (STI). STI is also responsible for development of the tuning and management systems.

R&D Sport, with a wealth of motorsport experience, undertook production and assembly.

The tyres are supplied by the Yokohama Rubber Co., and motor oil by MOTUL.

The car’s main driver is Tetsuya Yamano, a veteran three-times GT300 champion.
