About the 2012 Nissan Murano

The Murano, Nissan's premium crafted crossover, continues in 2012 as one of the most distinctively styled vehicles in its class -- both inside and out. For 2012, enhancements include the addition of a new Platinum Edition, which is offered in an exclusive Sapphire Black exterior color. The rich dark undertones and sleek metallic shine of Sapphire Black uniquely complement Murano's distinctive styling.

All 2012 Muranos again feature a standard VQ-series 3.5-liter DOHC V6 rated at 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque on regular unleaded gasoline, and an advanced Xtronic CVT that provides a sporty and smooth driving experience. Murano is available in front-wheel drive or with an Intuitive All-Wheel Drive system, and all Muranos come with standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS). Murano is built on Nissan's proven "D" platform, which provides a solid foundation and lightweight suspension components, dual flow path shock absorbers and a twin-orifice speed-sensitive power steering system.

The most striking visual element of the Murano is its dramatic body, which imparts a "modern art" feel while still maintaining its distinctive "Murano-ness." The front end features a bold grille and wide front headlights, a wide hood that sweeps into the bodylines, powerful wheel arches, and an aggressive stance.

Murano is also offered with an available dual panel power sliding glass moonroof with 2nd row skylight, adding to its open, airy interior feeling. Inside, Murano offers high levels of warmth and luxury -- with available wood and aluminum accents, a 60/40 fold-flat rear seat with power return, heated front and rear seats, power liftgate and RearView Monitor. Standard or available technology includes Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition, Interface System for iPod®, 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system, an advanced touch screen Nissan Navigation System and Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System.

About the 2012 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

Along with the innovative top design, the stylish Murano CrossCabriolet exterior includes standard High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-functional xenon headlights, front fog lights, LED taillights and heated outside mirrors. The CrossCabriolet also offers the high ground clearance of a Murano for easy ingress and egress.

Inside, the luxurious interior starts with the foundation of the top-of-the-line Murano LE AWD and takes it to the next level of standard features and convenience. Premium materials are used throughout, with standard leather-appointed seats, unique wood-tone trim tuned to match each of three available interior colors (Black, Cashmere and Camel), and available premium double-stitched pattern leather-appointed seating.

The Murano CrossCabriolet shares its drivetrain with the hardtop Murano -- starting with the proven "D" platform (also utilized on Maxima and Altima sedans) and standard 3.5-liter 24-valve DOHC V6 producing 265 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a second-generation Xtronic CVT with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) for sporty response and smoothness. All 2012 Murano CrossCabriolets include Nissan's intuitive all-wheel drive system.

The Murano CrossCabriolet's lightweight 4-wheel independent suspension features MacPherson struts in front, a multi-link rear design, cradle-type front subframe and front and rear stabilizer bars. Every CrossCabriolet comes with 20-inch split 5-spoke titanium finish aluminum-alloy wheels with P235/55R20 Toyo Proxes A20 all-season tires.

Standard safety features include the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual stage supplemental front air bags, front seat side-impact supplemental air bags, door-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags, front seat Active Head Restraints, and Dual Pop-up Roll Bars for rear passengers.
