DRAPER, Utah--April 23, 2012: Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) Flexpoint announced the receipt of an endorsement of their Patented Bend Sensor Technology from Intertek Industrial Corp.

Brad Elliott, Sales Manager at Intertek Industrial Corp. of Jacksonville Florida stated, "Intertek uses Flexpoint Technology in their Protek Passenger Awareness System. The technology is an essential component of the system and has proven to be reliable and accurate over the time that we have used it. We have enjoyed our relationship with Flexpoint and have found them to be innovative and responsive to our needs. We are excited about the future application of this technology. A national surge in ambulance crashes has called for increased safety standards for these emergency vehicles. Due to the rise in injuries and fatalities that result from these crashes, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) took on the task of rewriting the ambulance standard.  As a result there is national legislation currently proposed that may take effect as early as 2013. It will require a safety system like ours in all ambulances."

The "smart" passenger safety system is installed in the seats of the rear compartment of Emergency Vehicles and provides the driver with constant feed back as to the "seated and secured" status of personnel in the rear of the vehicle. The system is currently in use in emergency vehicles in the US and is being tested in applications for other types of emergency vehicles. There are approximately 6,000 new ambulances constructed annually in the US. Intertek estimates that sales of their system could exceed 1,000 systems annually.

The President of Flexpoint, Clark Mower stated, "We have enjoyed our relationship with Intertek and are excited about the application of the universal sensor to their Protek technology. These products have the potential to significantly increase the production of sensors by Flexpoint. Each vehicle system features a control unit with at least four sensors and a display unit, all designed and manufactured by Flexpoint. The company has realized and will continue to realize revenues under these contracts. There is potential for additional annual volumes in other types of emergency vehicles as well."
