Families Invited as Dodge Brand and North Oakland YMCA Encourage Kids to Play and Learn at April 28 Healthy Kids Day

Auburn Hills, MI--April, 27, 2012

YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit and the Dodge Brand are celebrating Healthy Kids Day, a community event designed to encourage kids and families to stay physically and intellectually fit throughout the summer. The entire community is invited to enjoy family fun activities on Saturday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Oakland Family YMCA (3378 E. Walton Blvd., Auburn Hills, Mich.).

The Dodge brand is a national supporter of YMCA Healthy Kids Day and, along with Milosch's Palace Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Lake Orion, will host a ride and drive event. Dodge will donate $20 to the North Oakland Y Strong Kids Campaign for each test drive.

What:

  • Activities include a scavenger hunt, bounce house, petting zoo, arts and crafts, and face painting
  • Kids can test drive miniature Dodge Charger police cars
  • Executive Sous Chef, for Midtown Detroit's Majestic Bistro, Antonio Merritt will give cooking demonstrations throughout the day on how to prepare healthy snacks
  • Representatives from local businesses will provide a variety of activities including kids portraits and health and safety tips
