IRVINE, CA--May 10, 2012: The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) today announced the launch of a free mobile phone app it created for download on the iPhone and Android. The app is the first of its kind in the nation, allowing FasTrak accountholders access to the same account and customer service features they find on The Toll Roads' website.

“We are also looking forward to feedback from our FasTrak customers on how the app has made it quicker and more convenient for them to manage their accounts, anytime and anywhere from their smart phone.”

FasTrak is a pre-paid electronic toll collection system that allows drivers to pay tolls automatically while traveling at highway speeds through designated lanes; it is the one and only electronic toll collection system used in California. TCA operates The Toll Roads, the largest network of toll roads in the state, comprised of the 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads in Orange County, Calif.

The new mobile app offers FasTrak account holders complete access to their accounts wirelessly over the Internet from their smartphones. Users simply download the free app onto their iPhone or Android phone and, from there, can view their account balance and make payments; edit account information; add or remove vehicles; view and request transponders; plan their trip on The Toll Roads and much more.

"We constantly strive to improve customer service. So, we're excited to offer our patrons an easier way to access and manage their FasTrak accounts. With this app, patrons can even add and remove rental vehicles from their accounts," said Joyce Hill, deputy director of Customer Service. "This app is the first of its kind. And, we're confident it will make our drivers' experience with The Toll Roads even more convenient."

To download the free app, visit the iPhone App Store or Android Google Play Store and search for "FasTrak" or "The Toll Roads." Then, FasTrak accountholders can access their accounts with the same user ID and password used to login on The Toll Roads' website.

The new mobile app is another important first for the Toll Roads in improving customer service. The Transportation Corridor Agencies/The Toll Roads developed the technology behind FasTrak. TCA has 409,500 FasTrak accounts and 793,500 FasTrak transponders in circulation.

"We are proud to continue to set the standards that other state tolling agencies now follow," said Tom Margro, chief executive officer. "We are also looking forward to feedback from our FasTrak customers on how the app has made it quicker and more convenient for them to manage their accounts, anytime and anywhere from their smart phone."

The Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA) are two joint powers authorities formed by the California legislature in 1986 to plan, finance, construct and operate Orange County's 67-mile public toll road system. Fifty-one miles of the system are complete, including the 73, 133, 241 and 261 Toll Roads. Elected officials from surrounding cities and county supervisorial districts are appointed to serve on each agency's board of directors. Public oversight ensures that the interests of local communities and drivers are served and that TCA continues to meet the region's growing need for congestion-free transportation alternatives.

FasTrak® is a pre-paid electronic toll collection system that allows drivers to pay tolls automatically while driving at highway speeds through designated FasTrak lanes. FasTrak is the statewide electronic toll collection standard, and can be used on tollways and bridges such as the 91 Express Lanes between Orange and Riverside Counties, the I-15 Express Lanes and SR 125 South Bay Expressway in San Diego, and San Francisco Bay Area bridges and express lanes. FasTrak is a registered trademark of the San Joaquin Hills and Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agencies (TCA), two government authorities that collectively operate the San Joaquin Hills (State Route 73), Foothill (State Route 241), and Eastern (State Routes 133 and 261) Toll Roads in Orange County, CA.
