TORONTO--May 10, 2012: AlertDriving, the global leader in web-based driver risk management solutions, is pleased to announce the expansion of its Mobile Defensive Driver Training to 9 countries and will be unveiling them at ASSE 2012 Safety Exposition, taking place June 3 through June 5 in Denver, CO.

“Today's workforce has become increasingly more reliant on mobile devices. In 2011, the number of smartphones and tablets exceeded the number of personal computers sold. It is estimated that by 2014, 1 billion smartphones will be sold -- twice as many as PC's”

AlertDriving has expanded their mobile coverage to the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Malawi, Tanzania, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Middle East, joining the United States and Canada. The program allows drivers to take training on tablets and smartphones, including Apple, Blackberry & Android devices and will continue to be launched out to the rest of the world throughout 2012.

"Today's workforce has become increasingly more reliant on mobile devices. In 2011, the number of smartphones and tablets exceeded the number of personal computers sold. It is estimated that by 2014, 1 billion smartphones will be sold -- twice as many as PC's," said Matt Latreille, Vice President, Global Content & Innovation.

"We surveyed our clients and found that 3 out of every 4 drivers use a mobile device on the job. Allowing drivers to access training when they want from where they want will help dramatically reduce collisions and liability exposure by improving accessibility and productivity," said Rob Martin, Vice President, Sales. "Most web-based training program are developed in flash, which can cause a problem for most smartphones and tablets," Martin continued. "We developed our solutions with an eye on the future making it an easy transition from flash to more mobile-friendly HTML5."
