Ford Motor Company Rumbles into Tulsa for 38th Annual Mid-America Ford Nationals

TULSA, OK--June 5, 2012: Ford Motor Company will bring the hottest high performance cars sporting cutting edge technology to one of the largest annual Ford enthusiast meets in the nation, the 38th Annual Mid-America Ford Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 13-17.

“That's why Ford Motor Company will be there with the hot new 2013 models. It's a chance for us to show the public how good these cars look and perform. From the road course to the street, drag strip and car show, we build winners.”

"That's why Ford Motor Company will be there with the hot new 2013 models. It's a chance for us to show the public how good these cars look and perform. From the road course to the street, drag strip and car show, we build winners."

Taking place June 13-17, this high-octane Ford event will offer exciting activities for families, gearheads and local community members alike. The event kicks off with the Ford Motor Company Drivers School at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit where Ford owners can understand their car's capabilities through one-on-one professional driving instruction around the road course.

Thursday begins at the open track venue from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Ford track days are designed to teach both inexperienced and expert level drivers new skills using an open track. Later that evening, enthusiasts can join in the Tulsa Ford Cruisin' at Brady Ford Fest. The cruise will make its way through Tulsa and conclude at the Historic Brady Arts District where a kid's zone, restaurants and live entertainment will await.

"We're excited to showcase the new 2013 vehicles that everyone has been eager to see," added Owens. "We're bringing the legendary Ford Shelby GT500, Boss 302 Mustang and the new Focus ST. From a 662 horsepower, 200 MPH super car or a fast four cylinder, we'll have steed for every need."

After another adrenaline filled open track day on Friday, all enthusiasts with a purchased ticket will attend the Mid-America Ford and Team Shelby banquet program. Happy hour starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Marriott lobby where guests can mingle and get a first-hand look at the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 that will be on display. Banquet doors open at 7:30 p.m. with features that include door prizes, meal, event video footage and special guest speakers from Ford.

On Saturday, activities will shift gears as the Oklahoma Ford Dealerships will sponsor drag racing at the Tulsa Raceway Park. Race brackets will be created for all levels of Ford performance vehicles, and a drag race instruction program will even be offered for beginners. Throughout the day at the track, a swap meet will take place where enthusiasts can buy, sell or trade vintage and new parts, as well as network with each other.

The event will be topped off on Sunday with the All Ford Super Show consisting of over 40 classes of Ford powered vehicles. Admittance to view the show is free to the public. It is one of the largest gatherings of vintage and late model Ford muscle cars, race cars and classics in the country. The trophy and award ceremony will close out Mid-American Ford and Team Shelby Nationals starting at 2:30 p.m. in the Marriott lobby.
