SANTA CLARA, CA--July 12, 2012: Neonode Inc , the MultiSensingTM touch technology company, announced today that it has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Alpine Electronics Inc., a leading automotive systems and audio specialist, to embed Neononde's patented MultiSensing technology, that includes the Neonode AlwaysON and proximity features, into Alpines In-Vehicle Infotainment System products.

The Neonode MultiSensing solution is a robust optical touch technology, particularly suitable for vehicle displays. Unlike other touch solutions, it detects any type of object, like a gloved hand or a car key. In addition, the Neonode AlwaysON power saving feature enables gesture activated wake-up of the screen when it is in sleep or off mode. The solution also includes a proximity function that senses objects up to 4 inches away, supporting multi "air gesture" commands without having to actually touch the display surface.
