HERNDON, VA--September 1, 2012: Wireless Matrix Corporation (TSX: WRX), a leading provider of GPS fleet tracking services, today announced that it has been selected by a prestigious university in the western United States to provide fleet tracking for up to 1,100 vehicles.

“This win is the result of a lengthy and highly detailed process that put FleetOutlook toe-to-toe with solutions from some of the largest GPS tracking companies in the industry”

Under the initial three-year agreement, the university will deploy Wireless Matrix's award-winning FleetOutlook® GPS tracking solution for vehicle location and status reporting. It will be deployed on a broad range of vehicle types, including both Clean Natural Gas (CNG) and electric vehicles. While most of the vehicles to be tracked are utilized on and around campus, there are also commuter transport vehicles that travel beyond the university's metro area.

The selection is the result of a highly competitive solicitation, proposal and pilot process by the university's transportation department. The process involved initial bids from approximately 20 companies in the GPS fleet tracking industry. Wireless Matrix was selected by the university following a successful 60-day pilot of FleetOutlook on its vehicles earlier this year.

"This win is the result of a lengthy and highly detailed process that put FleetOutlook toe-to-toe with solutions from some of the largest GPS tracking companies in the industry," said Maria Izurieta, acting CEO of Wireless Matrix. "We're excited by the university's selection of FleetOutlook, and we look forward to working with them to identify and realize greater efficiencies from their vehicle fleet."

The contract marks Wireless Matrix's premiere entry into the Education Transportation vertical. The initial order under the contact has already been received by the company.
