DALLAS--November 12, 2012: Excentus, creator of the patented cents per gallon rewards concept and leading loyalty marketing program provider, today announced the launch of a limited-time promotion that thanks hard-working consumers nationwide by helping them save at least 3˘ per gallon on fuel purchases at participating Shell stations this holiday season. Through Excentus' free Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) program, consumers will save a minimum of 3 cents off per gallon on high quality Shell fuels at participating Shell stations between November 6 and December 31. Excentus and Shell have been rolling out the Fuel Rewards Network program to more than 10,000 Shell sites this year, and the program will be available in nearly 200 markets by year end.

“The FRN program is built to save people money”

The FRN program allows consumers to take an active role in driving down the price they pay for fuel through their normal spending activities. Members earn rewards when making purchases with FRN participating merchants, which include select grocers, online merchants, restaurants and other service providers throughout the U.S. Those rewards can then be redeemed right at the pump on all grades of quality Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines including Shell V-Power® Premium Gasoline, and Shell Diesel, at participating Shell stations for savings on the cost per gallon of gasoline up to 20 gallons per purchase, per vehicle.

"The FRN program is built to save people money," said Dickson Perry, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Excentus. "This time of year, a little extra savings can go a long way. Our 3˘ per gallon 'Thank You' promotion is meant to spread some extra holiday cheer by putting more money back in people's pockets."

How it Works:

Consumers who are not FRN Members need not worry. The program is free to join and registration can be completed quickly online or by picking up an FRN Card at participating Shell stations and activating it through the website or via the FRN iPhone App. Consumers can also request an FRN Card to be mailed to them by signing up at fuelrewards.com.

To start saving, FRN Members simply need to insert their FRN Card at the pump (or see cashier if paying inside) before beginning their fuel transaction. If Members have less than 3 cents per gallon in accumulated Fuel Rewards® savings, Excentus will instantly apply a 3 cents per gallon reward to their fuel purchase, allowing the Member to see the per gallon price of their fill-up drop automatically.

How to Increase The Savings:

Members can save more than 3 cents per gallon by taking advantage of the various rewards earning opportunities available through the FRN program:

  • Dining
    • Consumers can earn 10 cents per gallon in Fuel Rewards® savings for every $50 spent on qualifying purchases at more than 10,000 participating restaurants, bar and club locations by simply linking a credit or debit card to FRN Dining.
  • Online Mall
    • FRN Members earn 5 cents per gallon for every $50 spent through the Online Mall on qualifying purchases. Members can access nearly 700 online merchants -- some offering 2x, 5x, 10x rewards or more for maximized earnings.
  • eCoupons
    • In select markets consumers can download eCoupons available through the FRN program and earn Fuel Rewards savings on select items at participating grocery and drug stores.
  • Grocery & Other Programs
    • Grocery store rewards cards can also be used to earn Fuel Rewards savings in select markets when FRN Members shop with local participating grocers.
