Ford F-150 Remains Top Searched Vehicle

RICHMOND, VA--December 27, 2012: The Ford F-150 is the most searched vehicle on carmax.com, for the third consecutive year.

“The hardest part about buying a car is finding the right one”

Trucks and sport utility vehicles continue to be popular on carmax.com, according to CarMax, Inc. , the nation's largest retailer of used vehicles. Also, the Chevrolet Camaro made its first appearance on the top ten list, since its reintroduction into the market in 2009.

The top ten searched vehicles on CarMax for 2012* are:

  1. Ford F-150
  2. Ford Mustang
  3. Jeep Wrangler
  4. Honda Accord
  5. Honda Civic
  6. Toyota Camry
  7. Chevrolet Tahoe
  8. Nissan Altima
  9. Toyota Tacoma
  10. Chevrolet Camaro

"The hardest part about buying a car is finding the right one," said A.J. Fleming, location general manager at CarMax in Des Moines, Iowa. "Fortunately, CarMax has virtually every make and model that can be searched from the comfort of your home or on the go."

Customers can shop the company's entire inventory online at CarMax, the mobile site (CarMax Mobile) and by using the CarMax app available at the iTunes Store. Results can be filtered by specific features, such as leather seats, to help find their perfect vehicle. Vehicles can be shipped from anywhere in the U.S. to a customer's nearest CarMax location. Some transfers are available for free.
