4th Annual MAACO Charitable Golf Tournament Helps Fund Much-Needed Pediatric Transplant Surgeries

CHARLOTTE, NC--June 10, 2013: The Maaco team joined forces with the Driven Brands Charitable Foundation to host the 4th Annual MAACO Charitable Golf Tournament at the quaint Spring Ford Country Club in Royersford, PA. And while some impressive rounds were posted, the real winners were the children around the country who will benefit from the more than $100,000 that will go to fund the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

A cast of generous vendors, including Audatex, Saint Gobain/Norton, Mitchell and Yodle, Dupont, Finish Master, Pitch, PPG and Sherwin Williams, spearheaded the fundraising efforts. These sponsorships provided cash and amazing prizes through both silent and live auction. All told, they raised $91,000 by the end of play—valuable funds that will hopefully give a child another day.

"Being a supportive part of our communities is a big part of who we are—it comes with the paint," said Jose Costa, newly-installed Maaco President. Near the end of the day, with the tally resting at $91,000 following generous contributions from all in attendance, Costa procured an additional $9,000 lump sum donation on behalf of Driven Brands to push the total over six figures.

The event would not have been possible without the diligent help of Margie Ford, Grace Makoid, Regina Tevis and other Driven volunteers who volunteered hundreds of hours to make the tournament a success.

On June 12, Meineke--like Maaco, a Driven brand--will host the 15th Annual Meineke Tournament of Champions in Charlotte's picturesque Golf Club at Ballantyne. A raffle will be held for a Cabo San Lucas vacation package, as well as attendance at the Meineke Convention in Boca Raton. The Foundation's goal is to raise $5 Million in 5 years, in furtherance of its vision to imbue its customers, franchisees and employees with a connection to Children's Miracle Network.
