Auto insurance group offers a discount to reward safer more responsible drivers

don;t text and drive

ATLANTA--Jan. 28, 2014: Good2Go, specialists in offering minimum coverage auto insurance, announced a new cell phone safety discount available for customers who install a text message blocking device in their vehicle. The company is offering a 5% discount off bodily injury, property damage, and collision coverage per vehicle to drivers who install a device that blocks functions such as text messaging, email and Internet browsing.

Joe DeLago, CEO of Good2GoŽ states, "While other companies advise consumers not to text and drive, they do little to incent them to do so. We are hoping that our new discount will draw attention to the issue, and prompt others to take pro-active action."

Mr. DeLago also added, "...Our second reason for offering the Cell Phone Safety Discount is that we believe that families who would be inclined to install a blocking device will be safer, more responsible drivers, and submit fewer claims. We back that supposition by reducing rates for such families, and think they deserve the lower rates they will receive."

The discount was recently approved by the state of Illinois and will also be introduced in other Good2GoŽ states throughout 2014. To get the discount, drivers simply need to install a text blocking device in their vehicle and provide a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase via email, fax or postal service.

Text blockers are hardware/software that disable the data functions of the phone (e.g. texting, email, and internet browsing) while the vehicle is in motion. They do not, however, disable essential call functionality such as calling 911 in case of an emergency.
