As part of an on-going drive to inform young people about the exciting career building benefits of joining the company’s Apprenticeship Programme, Volvo Trucks will be attending The Skills Show at the NEC, Birmingham between 13th and 15th of November. This is the first time the company has attended The Skills Show.

WARWICK -- November 13, 2014: Volvo Trucks Commercial Academy and Apprenticeship Manager Adam Plastow will be giving visitors to The Skills Show the low-down on what an apprenticeship with the world’s leading, advanced technology, truck and bus manufacturer offers young people today.

Adam will also be giving a ‘Spotlight Talk’ under the overall heading of ‘Be Inspired: Real Jobs - Real People’ at 12:40 pm on Thursday from the Spotlight Stage in Hall 2 of the NEC. In this, he will reveal how the latest technology, including driver, road user and vehicle safety and emissions reduction, used in Volvo trucks and buses is feeding the need for highly skilled workshop technicians in the company’s thoroughly modern dealer network.

Adam and his team will be available to answer questions, throughout The Skills Show and will be based on the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) stand (HG03) in Hall 3.

The IMI stand is also playing host to the latest Volvo FMX truck. This four-axle, high technology construction vehicle is equipped with over 50 on-board computers and is typical of the high specification vehicles that Volvo Trucks Apprentices work on during their three-year course.
