WOLFSBURG, GERMANY -- March 10, 2015: Deliveries by Volkswagen Passenger Cars remained stable in February. The brand handed over 413,700 vehicles last month, thus matching deliveries for the same month of the previous year in a difficult environment. A total of 920,700 (January-February 2014: 935,200; -1.6 per cent) vehicles were therefore delivered to customers in the first two months of the year. “The situation on world markets remains tense,” Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, commented. “Thanks to a convincing model range, the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand was able to maintain deliveries at the high level of the prior year. In particular the new Passat as well as the Golf and Golf Sportsvan models continue to meet with a very positive response from our customers,” Klingler continued.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars handed over 246,800 (245,300; +0.6 per cent) vehicles to customers on the overall European market in the period to February. In Western Europe (excluding Germany), deliveries improved by 3.8 per cent to 129,600 (124,800) units. In Germany, deliveries by Volkswagen Passenger Cars in the first two months of the year rose to 85,900 (80,600; +6.7 per cent). Deliveries in Russia decreased to 12,000 (20,000; -40.1 per cent) units as a result of the ongoing difficult market situation.

The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand grew deliveries in the North America region by 3.6 per cent to 85,700 (82,700) units, of which 49,200 (50,600; -2.8 per cent) were handed over in the United States.
