Washington DC June 2, 2015; The AIADA online newsletter reported that even though the brand has seen huge sales growth, Subaru is holding the price line when it comes to its popular Outback wagon, according to USA Today.

The 2016 Subaru Outback starts at $25,845 including destination fees, an increase of $100 over the 2015 model. The Outback's sedan sibling, the Legacy, starts at $22,540 for 2016. That's $50 more than the 2015 model.

Both the 2016 Legacy and Outback arrive at dealerships this summer. Redesigned for 2015, the wagon and sedan get the brand's Starlink emergency communication service for the 2016 model year.

The Starlink communication system operates like GM's OnStar system, connecting the driver to an adviser with the push of a button. The available EyeSight safety system also adds Lane Keep Assist for 2016. Other new-for-2016 features include an auto on/off mode that operates the headlights when the windshield wipers are turned on and a retuned electric power-assist steering system.

New to the available EyeSight safety suite this year is Lane Keep Assist. If the system's camera detects lane drift at speeds above 40 miles per hour, the car is automatically directed back to the lane.
