TACOMA, WA -- June 4, 2015: America's Car Museum (ACM) recently added Scharmach Enterprises President and CEO Manfred Scharmach to its board of directors. Scharmach brings additional insight to ACM's board over 40 years of experience in the Washington automotive industry.

"We've been behind ACM from the start. The Museum's a national go-to destination. It's fantastic for Tacoma, the auto industry and car enthusiasts," said Scharmach. "The opportunity to become further involved with projects like the Hagerty Education Program at America's Car Museum – keeping young people apprenticing in the trades needed to preserve and restore history – is an honor and a responsibility I'm committed to."

Scharmach owns and operates Washington's oldest BMW franchise – consisting of BMW Northwest, Northwest MINI, Seattle MINI and Northwest Pre-Owned Center. He was the chairman of the National MINI Dealer Council from 2012-2014, and opened Washington's first MINI dealership in 2002.

"Manfred is well respected for his business acumen and integrity," said ACM president and CEO David Madeira. "He's a terrific addition to our board of directors, bringing tremendous experience and a network of relationships within the automotive industry, and the greater Puget Sound business community."

Scharmach is also the president of Puget Sound dealer advertising group for BMW. He is a 35-year resident of Pierce County and currently resides in Lakewood, Wash.

"Importantly, Manfred's been an early, consistent and generous supporter and advocate for the Museum," added Madeira.
