Editor's Note:These are the thoughts of a 2015 Prius C owner and loyal TACh viewer.

Louisville KY August 24, 2015; I’ve always wanted a Prius. Ever since they came out I thought it was a good idea to buy one, mainly because of the miles per gallon it offered.

I waited to buy one for a variety of reasons that included; at first you couldn’t find a Prius, like everyone wanted one. Then when they were more available, my current car wasn’t old enough and my budget wasn’t big enough.

But I waited, like a good girl I waited for my prince charming to appear.

And boy did it appear, it appeared just like a tangerine vision that spoke to me in a sexy citrusy voice that purred, “Buy Me, I’m the one you’ve been waiting for.” It wasn’t just the color that would afford me the opportunity to find my car in any parking lot I parked in, it was the gas mileage that won my heart; 58 mpg city, 45 mpg highway. It was right there on the windshield of my brand new 2015 Prius.

I couldn’t wait to go like, forever, without filling up my gas tank. Okay, mpg isn’t as sexy as the tangerine, but as we all know, money talks and I believed the mpg, with all my heart, I believed him. I called my salesman and asked why, he gave me a vague answer and said it takes time. Takes time?

Now it’s been almost two months. So far I only drive in the city. And what kind of mpg do I get? 42.5 mpg, I fill it up every two weeks or so. The car of my dreams lied to me. I’m left with only a tangerine hue and a broken heart.

Why does Prius play with the numbers? I would have been happy with 45 mpg if that’s what was advertised on the sticker, but frankly I might not have bought the car. Ah, but that’s maybe why Prius doesn’t play fair.

Oh well, I still like my car and color and maybe, just maybe I’ll get a few more gallons per mile before I really get ticked off!

Thanks for listening.
