Innovative Exhaust Alignment Kit Helps Exhaust Modifications Fit

NORMA Group’s Torca SEC Kit will be shown at SEMA/AAPEX in Las Vegas

AUBURN HILLS, MI -- Oct. 19, 2015: The NORMA Group’s Torca Brand has developed a simple-to-use kit that allows technicians and automotive enthusiasts to easily route exhaust pipes to accommodate engine, chassis and exterior body panel changes.

The Torca SEC Kit (Swivel Exhaust Clamp) will be on display at the annual SEMA/AAPEX shows in Las Vegas in early November. NORMA Group’s patented SEC technology currently is used by a number of automotive manufacturers to route tailpipes through bumpers and rear facia openings. The technology now will be available for aftermarket fabricators and do-it-yourself customers not equipped with tooling to form a swivel joint’s stepped ball and flare.

“The Torca SEC Kit combines needed clamping strength with the flexibility needed for the alignment of exhaust pipes,” notes Tim Jones CEO of NORMA Americas. “The kit will provide a solution for difficult to install exhaust-system modifications.”

Jones points out that Torca’s patented design is easy to install and service, while providing technicians and do-it-yourself vehicle owners with clamp loads needed to firmly secure exhaust joints in place. The Torca Swivel Kit can be used to replace inline pipes in an exhaust system to allow for adjustments from the catalytic converter all the way to the rear tip of an exhaust pipe.

The Torca aftermarket kit comes with two eight-inch-long pipes and one SEC band clamp. The innovative joint is created by providing one eight-inch-long pipe with a unique stepped ball end and a second eight-inch-long pipe with a mating flare. Together, they form a spherical connection that is secured by the patented SEC band clamp. This joint technology allows a range of adjustment up to three degrees in any direction, while maintaining seal integrity and joint strength.

“It also will eliminate the need for expensive equipment and tooling,” Jones notes, “which can cost up to $25,000, to produce the unique ball-and-flare mating pipe ends. Installation by a technician only requires an inline weld of the two pipes that are included with the kit.”

Kits will be available in North America for a wide variety of applications and will come in three exhaust-pipe-connection sizes: 2.5-inch, 2.75-inch, and 3-inch. The kits will be offered to distributors in packs of four or 10. Each kit will include one set of mating pipes and an SEC clamp.

The system’s ball and flare pipe ends are manufactured and packaged in the U.S. Most of the Torca SEC Clamps for the kits are also manufactured by NORMA Group in the U.S.

The Torca SEC kit will be on display at NORMA Group exhibits at both the 2015 SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) in Booth 21743 on Nov. 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and at the 2015 AAPEX show (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) in Booth 4684 on Nov. 3-5 at the Sands Hotel and Exposition Center also in Las Vegas.
