GREENVILLE, S.C., March 29, 2017 -- Michelin has been awarded top honors in all four segments of the 2017 J.D. Power Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study. The four new awards in 2017 raise Michelin's win total to 84 all-time since the J.D. Power tire study began in 1989. This tally represents four times more awards than all other tire manufacturers combined.

Michelin swept the industry's top honors in the Luxury, Passenger Car, Truck/Utility and Performance Sport segments. It was the company's 14th consecutive highest ranking in the Luxury category, ninth consecutive top ranking for Passenger Car and second consecutive top ranking in the Truck/Utility category.

"Michelin has always been committed to providing our automotive manufacturing partners with a premium product that meets their performance and safety needs," said Nicolas Duriez, vice president of operations for passenger and light truck original equipment tires, Michelin North and South America. "It is great to see our close collaboration validated by our partners' most important customers – the purchasers of new vehicles."

The 2017 U.S. Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study is based on responses from more than 29,622 original owners of 2015 and 2016 model-year vehicles. Satisfaction is examined in four measures: tire wear, tire ride, tire appearance and tire traction/handling. The study was fielded in October through December 2016.
