WOODSTOCK, Ill., Aug. 25, 2017 -- Real Woodstock, which is about fostering and celebrating creativity and having fun with friends and family in one of the prettiest towns anywhere, announced today that Fall apple and pumpkin picking time has begun at the half-dozen orchards in Woodstock.

Woodstock has the largest concentration of apple orchards in the state of Illinois with six apple orchards in Woodstock and McHenry County. The orchards boast more than 20 apple varieties.

"Getting away to Woodstock to pick apples is a Fall tradition and a great way to create family memories," said Maureen Larson, Woodstock City Councilperson and Promote Woodstock Board Member. "After filling their baskets with apples, families come down to the historic Woodstock Square to make a complete day of it with boutique shopping and eating at one of our many restaurants.  People from around the region come together to enjoy the autumn season and have some real fun in Real Woodstock."

Woodstock's All Seasons Apple Orchard is one of the largest orchards in Northern Illinois with 14 different apple varieties and over 15,000 apple trees. Open daily from September 2 to October 29, visitors can find much more than just apple picking. All Seasons offers "Fall Festival" activities including: pumpkin picking, a ten-acre corn maze, a petting zoo, mini zip lines, wagon rides, and much more.  Visitors can also enjoy freshly pressed apple cider, warm homemade donuts, and meals in its Country Kitchen. All Seasons also produces and sells its own caramel in-house.

Rich with Victorian architecture, a town square that seems frozen in time, and a world-renowned Opera House, Woodstock also has an independent streak brimming with creativity and entrepreneurship.  We have the state's largest concentration of apple orchards and berry farms. Our weekly Farmer's Market is ranked one of Illinois' best. Our school system is a leader in dual language education. Artists and locally owned businesses are embraced.  And music, whether rock, folk, jazz, country or classical, fills the air indoors and out most every night.
