EyesOn DESIGN 2019

PHOTO

The 2019 EyesOn Design weekend of events will once again pay tribute to some of the most beautiful automotive design in the world.

The activities begin with Vision Honored, a black tie gala and silent auction at the MGM Grand in Detroit on Friday June 14, honoring Leonardo Fioravanti, recipient of the 2019 EyesOn Design Lifetime Design Achievement Award.

Signore Fioravanti will come to Detroit from Turin, Italy to receive the award and to attend the EyesOn Design car show on Father's Day, June 16.

Many Fioravanti-designed vehicles will be on hand at Vision Honored, and at the Sunday car show, including the car featured on the 2019 commemorative poster, a spectacular blue 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona owned by Keith Crain.

EyesOn Design, recognized two years running by USA Today as one of the top five car shows in the country, is the primary source of revenue for the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, supporting research, education and support programs for the visually impaired.

Tickets for both events are available for purchase. Here are some details about the Sunday automotive design exhibition, which includes an optional champagne brunch along Lake St. Clair.

Vehicles are chosen based on the year’s theme by invitation only, and between 200 and 300 vehicles are at the show on Father’s Day. In addition, EyesOn Design features special exhibitions and concept and production vehicles which debuted during the previous year’s auto show circuit, including ones which were awarded at EyesOn Design at the North American International Auto Show.

EyesOn Design receives its support from both domestic and foreign vehicle manufacturers, as well as automotive suppliers and other loyal companies. Judging is facilitated by active and retired exterior and interior designers from leading automotive and supplier companies.
