J.D. Power And Associates Awards Toyota Motor Credit Corporation Top Spot

TORRANCE, Calif., July 31 -- J. D. Power and Associates
announced today that Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC), along with Ford
Motor Credit Corporation, shares the top ranking for floor planning in the
J.D. Power and Associates 1997 Dealer Finance Satisfaction Study.
The study, based on responses from more than 3,000 dealers nationwide,
measures dealers' overall satisfaction with their financial institutions.
TMCC earned its top ranking in dealer floor planning (inventory financing) by
performing well in many of the study's categories, such as competitiveness of
floor planning rates, ease of operations and credit line flexibility.
"This award illustrates our ongoing commitment to provide our dealers with
a high-quality financial program and exemplary service," states George Borst,
TMCC senior vice president and general manager.
With more than $20 billion in assets (as of June 1997), TMCC is the ninth-
largest automotive finance organization in the United States and ranks fourth
among captives (finance companies in the automotive industry), according to
SNL Securities' annual listing. TMCC is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales,
U.S.A.
