Michigan Mother Creates Student Driver Flags Promoting Safety and Peace of Mind

LIVONIA, Mich., Sept. 10 -- With an estimated 3 million
student drivers training on the nation's roads each year in unmarked vehicles,
it's not surprising that their parents feel uneasy whenever they accompany
them on the road for lessons.
Since many states require students to practice their driving skills with
their parents at their sides, millions of parents could benefit from a new
product that promotes their safety and peace of mind. Until now it hasn't
been practical or affordable for parents to mark their cars for these special
occasions. Valerie Earle of Livonia, Mich. has changed this by creating the
"Student Vehicle Flag" which is easily mounted on and removed from a vehicle
window. And at $19.95, it's very affordable.
Valerie Earle came up with the idea this past spring after thousands of
Detroit Red Wings fans proudly displayed Stanley Cup Championship flags on
their vehicles. At the time, she was giving her child driving lessons and she
put two and two together.
Earle says insurance companies, education associations, safety councils,
driving schools and auto dealers should also be interested in this product.
"Lots of people have a stake in promoting driver safety and peace of mind on
the road," says Earle. "I'm talking with several now and expect to develop a
few strategic partnerships in the near future."
The flag is visible from all directions of traffic and features the text
"Student Driver" in bold black on a bright yellow background, the standard
colors expressing caution to drivers. Flags can be purchased by calling
313-522-5640.
