Saturn Gives Customers Cause To Celebrate At Carowinds

         Thousands Of Saturn Owners To Be Treated To A Day Of Family Fun At
                               Paramount's Theme Park

    CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 17 -- Saturn of Charlotte will join
other Carolina Saturn retailers to celebrate their customers' enthusiasm at
Paramount's Carowinds Theme Park on Sunday, October 26.
    Over 8,000 Saturn owners in North Carolina and South Carolina have already
registered (with more than 10,000 expected) to take part in the festivities,
which will include a day of family fun and a concert by country music
sensation Bryan White as well as other Saturn-sponsored events at the theme
park.
    The upcoming event is expected to be one of the largest gatherings of
Saturn owners since 1994's Saturn Homecoming at the company's Spring Hill,
Tenn., Manufacturing complex.
    "We're certainly very excited about the event," said David Mandt, director
of public relations for Carowinds.  "It's a unique way for Saturn to show its
appreciation.  They have a special tradition when it comes to customer
appreciation as evidenced by the 40,000 people who attended the homecoming
event in Tennessee."
    In addition to the attractions, Saturn customers can attend an exhibition
area featuring a preview of Saturn's 1998 models, Saturn Car Club activities
and demonstrations from Saturn's Inner City Youth Racing Team.
    Saturn is one of the most popular selling small cars in the United States
with total sales of approximately 1.5 million vehicles since October, 1990.
