KHA Says Happy Holidays With Safe Driving TipsHARRISON, N.Y., Dec. 19 -- With more than 44 million Americans expected to be on the road during the holiday season, drivers will need to be extra cautious, according to Heinz Niederhoff, vice president of Kemwel Holiday Autos (KHA). KHA, the world's leading leisure car rental company, and its staff should know. With more than 4,000 locations around the world, they rent cars to hundreds of thousands of travelers each year. This year, the company has 10 tips for safe holiday driving. 1. Buckle Up. Always remember to wear your seatbelt, and be sure that your passengers, including those in the back seat, wear theirs. 2. Allow yourself extra time for your trip. You'll arrive refreshed, relaxed and ready to enjoy the festivities. 3. Never drink and drive. Always assign a designated driver. 4. Pay extra attention to partygoers and revelers during the holiday season, especially at intersections and crossings. You will be sober, but they may not be. 5. Follow speed limits and drive safely. Following those rules and regulations will ensure your safety and the safety of others. 6. Be prepared for weather emergencies. Carry a flashlight, flares, jumper cables and blankets in your trunk. 7. Check weather forecasts before your departure. It's always a good idea to know what conditions to expect on the road. 8. Check your tires, battery, water and windshield wiper fluid. 9. Carry a prepaid phone card, just in case you need to stop and make a call. 10. When traveling with children, prepare them for the trip by explaining how long they will be in the car. Keep them busy with travel games, point out license plates from other states and bring along some healthy snacks. Drive safety and have a safe and happy holiday season. SOURCE Kemwel Holiday Autos
