Goulds Pumps Chevrolet In Top Spot for NASCAR Season-Opener

    SENECA FALLS, N.Y., Feb. 13. -- Mike McLaughlin, driver of
the No. 34 Goulds Pumps Chevrolet and one of this decades most successful
NASCAR drivers, has won the Bud Pole Award for tomorrow's NAPA Auto Parts 300,
the season opener for the NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division.
    McLaughlin's win puts him in top position for Saturday's race, which takes
place at the Daytona International Speedway.  The competition will be
broadcast on CBS television beginning at 12 noon E.S.T.
    McLaughlin has finished in the top-10 in points in the NASCAR Busch Series
the last three seasons.  McLaughlin's No. 34 Chevrolet is sponsored by Goulds
