United Recyclers Group Partners Join Together to Celebrate Earth Day; Open Houses - Featuring Air Bag Deployment Demonstrations

    DENVER, April 8 -- United Recyclers Group (URG) partners
across North America are joining together to help celebrate Earth Day on
April 22, 1998.  United Recyclers Group, L.L.C., a recently formed partnership
of over 350 recyclers, is sponsoring a North American campaign to educate and
inform the public about the environmental and economic benefits of the
automotive recycling.
    Participating URG Partners will be hosting open house events on
April 22nd.  They are inviting youth and civic groups, customers, vendors,
insurance appraisers, collision and mechanical repair operations, and the
public to visit their facilities for a 35-minute tour.  The open house
presentations will include an air bag deployment demonstration, a short video
on auto recycling and free auto recycling coloring books for kids.  Tours will
begin at 10 A.M., 12 P.M. and 4 P.M. at participating partner facilities.
    Every day thousands of wrecked automobiles are purchased for parts by auto
recyclers, dismantled and recycled.  Over 11 million vehicles are processed
and recycled every year, reducing pollution, creating new products and helping
the economy.
