Avis Enhances Airline Flight Tracking System, Expanding Service to All Domestic AirportsGARDEN CITY, N.Y., June 25 -- Adding another technology "first" in the car rental industry, Avis Rent A Car, Inc. today announced that it has enhanced its Preferred customer flight arrival program at almost 200 domestic airport locations by incorporating real-time flight tracking data from FlightView(R) into its Wizard of Avis system. FlightView, a state-of-the-art product of RLM Software, tracks airline flight status and provides Avis with accurate flight arrival times for all airlines arriving at United States airport locations. This capability enhances Avis' Preferred customer program, guaranteeing rental documents and cars are ready when customers arrive -- no matter if flights are early or delayed. Previously, Avis processed Preferred customer rentals based on real-time flight arrival data and offered FlightCheck departure status and gate information at 19 domestic airport locations. F. This ensures cars are available and car rental spaces are turned over quickly.
