9th Formula International Motor Show-Cairo Slated for November 10-15, 1998TROY, Mich., July 6 -- Thousands of influential automotive and political leaders from the Middle East and Africa will gather at the 9th Formula International Motor Show-Cairo this November. The slated schedule of Press, Trade, and Public Show dates is as follows: Press Day Nov. 10, 1998 Trade Days Nov. 10-11, 1998 Public Show Nov. 12-15, 1998 An expected crowd of more than 400,000 people is expected to attend the motor show. The event will feature a number of new vehicle introductions and will spotlight nearly 500 products from more than 300 international exhibitors, representing a variety of automotive and related industries. Unlike North American shows that feature only vehicles, the Formula International Motor Show-Cairo also highlights automotive parts, accessories, suppliers, repair, maintenance and service station and garage equipment. The 9th Formula International Motor Show-Cairo will be held at the Cairo International Fair Ground and the Cairo International Convention Center, in Nasr City, Cairo-Egypt. The venue offers 11 halls, spanning 80,000 meters, which doubles the space allocation from last year's show. The Formula International Motor Show-Cairo is sanctioned by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturing, widely known by its French acronym OICA. The OICA is the official sanctioning body for international motor shows. This show is one of a few select shows worldwide that is OICA-sanctioned. It is the only Egyptian event to receive the exclusive designation, distinguishing the Cairo show with other OICA shows such as Frankfurt, Tokyo, Geneva, Paris and Detroit. For the first time, the autumn FICA Genera Assembly Meeting will be held in Egypt, corresponding with the 9th Formula International Motor Show-Cairo. Key executives representing car-manufacturing associations in 40 countries will attend this premier international event. Due to its political stability and strategic location, Egypt has become a major business center and meeting point for foreign buyers, especially from the Middle East and Africa. Favorable changes in the Egyptian economy and the attraction of international investments have encouraged the private sector to establish automobile assembly plants and automotive-related enterprises in Egypt.
