         --It's All About Fun Cars, More Choices and Speedy Rentals--

    LISLE, Ill., Aug. 3 -- What do cool cars, fast service and
paperless transactions have in common?  Budget Fastbreak(SM).  Beginning this
week at major U.S. airports across the nation, Budget Rent a Car is launching
its best-ever express service with paperless transactions.  It's so fast,
Budget Fastbreak customers can be on their way in just a matter of seconds.
    Enrollment is easy and membership is free.  To enroll in Budget Fastbreak,
customers simply sign a Master Rental Agreement (MRA), which details all of
their preferences, from optional coverages and vehicle types to award options.
Once customers are enrolled in the program, they will never again have to sign
another rental agreement.
    "Where else can you get speedy service and an extraordinary choice of
vehicles under the same roof," asked Sandy Miller, chairman and CEO of Budget
Group, Inc.  "Fastbreak coupled with our new frequent renter program, Perfect
Drive, places Budget among the most attractive and competitive car rental
companies in the industry.  Our customers love Perfect Drive, to the tune of
more than 300,000 applicants since its April launch.  Fastbreak is the latest
component of Budget's new service which is designed to lock in customer
loyalty."
    Depending on the airport configuration, there are two variations of Budget
Fastbreak service:  Choice and Counter.

    Fastbreak Choice
    At 25 of the top U.S. airports, Fastbreak Choice customers are bused from
the terminal to the Budget lot and dropped off at a dedicated weather-
protected Fastbreak canopy where they can confirm their reserved car class on
the reservations monitor.  Customers then get to choose their vehicles from a
wide array of styles and colors within the car class they have reserved and
simply show their driver's license and the hang tag from the rearview mirror
to the attendant at the state-of-the-art Fastbreak exit booths.  And in a
matter of seconds, they are on their way.
    Or, for a nominal fee, Fastbreak members can upgrade to a different car
class by simply choosing another vehicle (say, specialty or luxury) and
presenting the hang tag to the exit booth attendant, who will record the
change in vehicle rental in the system.

    Fastbreak Counter
    Fastbreak Counter, available at more than 80 U.S. airports, offers the
same speedy, paperless service as Fastbreak Choice, with a brief stop at the
designated Fastbreak area of the rental counter.  Customers simply check their
reservation status on the Fastbreak manifest, enter the Fastbreak service
line, present their driver's license to the customer service representative,
pick up their keys, and off they go.
    In addition to speedy rentals, both Fastbreak Choice and Counter service
offer Rapid Return, where a Budget service agent prints the customer's receipt
on the spot in the lot when they return the car.  Customers can enroll in
Fastbreak and Perfect Drive at any one of more than 600 participating Budget
locations across the nation or by downloading application forms from Budget's
