Nissan Lowers 1999 Frontier, Sentra Prices Five Percent GARDENA, Calif., Sept. 23 -- Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.
today announced 1999 model year Nissan Frontier and Sentra pricing, which is
approximately 5 percent less than 1998 model-year prices for comparably
equipped vehicles.
The base Nissan Frontier 4x2 XE Regular Cab has a Manufacturer's Suggested
Retail Price (MSRP) of $11,490, while the base Frontier 4x4 XE Regular Cab is
priced at $15,990.
With the addition of a powerful new 3.3-liter V6 engine, available in 4x4
King Cab models and starting at an MSRP of $18,290, there are now seven
Frontier models available for 1999. Among these are the Frontier 4x2 XE King
Cab at $13,490, the 4x2 SE King Cab (available with January production) at
$14,990 and the 4x4 SE King Cab at $20,190.
The full range of Frontier models, driver configurations and engines -
coupled with numerous option packages and accessories which are available -
offers buyers a wide selection of value-packed, competitively priced Nissan
trucks.
The average equipment adjusted MSRP for the Nissan Frontier decreased
$830, or 5.1 percent.
Nissan's Sentra for the 1999 model year comes with updated front end
styling, which includes a new headlight treatment, new grille and new front
fascia, at an MSRP of $11,799 for the value-oriented Sentra XE.
The volume leading Sentra GXE has an MSRP of $14,199. Among the standard
features of the well-equipped Sentra GXE are 14-inch wheels with unique wheel
cover design, body side moldings, dual power remote outside mirrors, 60/40
split fold-down rear seatback, cruise control and power windows and door
locks.
A Limited Edition Option Package for Sentra GXE models is available with
numerous features, such as AM/FM/CD audio system, remote keyless entry system,
14-inch alloy wheels, front stabilizer bar and Limited Edition badging, which
offers the consumer $1,140 of value, but only adds $190 (MSRP) for a package
savings of $950.
A smart choice for consumers who seek sports car performance from a
compact sedan, the Sentra SE is expected to be available January 1999. The
sporty Sentra SE will have an MSRP of $15,199, which is $1,550 less the 1998
Sentra SE.
The average equipment adjusted MSRP for the Nissan Sentra decreased $796
versus last year, or 5 percent.
Ranked best in the Compact Pickup Segment in the J.D. Power and Associates
1998 Initial Quality Study (IQS2), the Nissan Frontier is built in Smyrna,
Tenn., at Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corporation U.S.A. (NMMC), which this
year, for the fifth year in a row, was named the most productive automotive
assembly facility in North America by The Harbour Report 1998. The Nissan
Sentra also is built by NMMC and by Nissan Mexicana in Mexico.
