Previews the 21st Century From Paris
DETROIT, Oct. 5 -- The 100th anniversary of the Paris Auto
Show gave the world a peek into the next century of cars last week, and the
editors were on the scene to file a huge special
report.
Complete with photos and text, all the hot stuff from Modial de
l'Automobile is posted on as of today, Monday,
October 5, at 9 a.m.
Some of the stars of the show highlighted on the site include the new Audi
TT Coupe, the Saab 9-5 wagon, the Ford Focus, BMW's next M5 and the new
Mercedes S Class -- many of these seen in production skin for the first time
and all headed for the U.S. market.
The staff also profiles some world market
vehicles, like the Toyota Yaris and Honda Logo. The concept cars text and
photos include the radical Bugatti prototype new owner VW may use to relaunch
the nameplate, and the possible successor to the legendary Citroen 2CV (deux
chevaux). The Jag XK180 is a topless concept roadster that could set a new
speed record -- and provide a wide range of pieces for upcoming products,
including a 450hp version of the current V8.
