WHAT: AAA will donate 250 child safety seats to Valley Children's
Hospital as part of a comprehensive program to increase
safety awareness for children. AAA's program "Have A Seat,"
will donate the seats to the hospital, which will then give
them to new parents unable to buy their own. AAA will also
donate 10 safety seats to local law enforcement agencies for
          use in their patrol vehicles.

WHO: Parents departing from the hospital will receive the safety
seats and learn to keep their children safe in automobiles.
Representatives of Valley Children's Hospital and AAA will
share safety information and education to ensure that
children of all ages are safe in automobiles.

          9300 Valley Children's Place
          Madeira, Calif.

WHY: Automobile crashes kill approximately 1,800 American
children each year. AAA is a leading traffic safety advocate
working to educate people that safety belts and safety seats
greatly increase chances for survival in an automobile
crash. AAA is donating a total of 1,100 child safety seats
to children's hospitals and law enforcement agencies in the
Bay Area, Central Valley, and Nevada.
