Federal-Mogul Halloween Bash Scares Up $80,000 For Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan DetroitSOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 3 -- Federal-Mogul's Halloween Bash on October 29 for Big Brothers Big Sisters attracted over 900 people who screamed with delight when the company made a surprise presentation of $80,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. "No bones about it, we are committed to improving the communities in which we work and live," said Dick Snell, chairman and chief executive officer. "The partnership between our employees and Big Brothers Big Sisters continues to flourish as we reach out to children at risk. Federal-Mogul employees are volunteering their time to be mentors and we celebrate their efforts tonight." On behalf of Federal-Mogul and it's supplier partners, Snell presented three checks to Joe Radelet, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. The first was from The Chase Manhattan Bank for $10,000; the second from Bear Stearns for $20,000 and the third was from Federal-Mogul for $50,000. "Our partnership with Federal-Mogul has gone way beyond our expectations," said Joe Radelet, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. "Your commitment to our organization is making a difference as we have dramatically increased our number of mentor matches with your support." At Federal-Mogul's Halloween Bash held on October 29, costumed children trick-or-treated through the building, were photographed with an 8 ft. Frank N. Stein character, delighted by a magician, and scared by the frightful haunted hall. Prizes were awarded to many of the children for their costume creations. At the end of the evening, the children left with pumpkins, balloons, a goodie bag filled with toys and a trick-or-treat bag stuffed with candy.
