The Miami show is among a select number of auto shows that will be displaying the rugged new truck before it reaches dealer showrooms in late spring of 1999. The long-awaited Tundra represents Toyota's first venture into the full- size truck segment. Tundra will offer a powerful 4.7-liter V8 engine that will deliver approximately 245-horsepower and haul a maximum payload of nearly one ton. Tundra will be available in a wide variety of configurations powered by either V8 or V6 engines, including two- or four-wheel drive, two-door regular cab with an eight-foot bed or four-door Access Cab with a six-and-a-half-foot bed. In addition to Tundra and Solara, the show will feature other models in Toyota's 1999 lineup including 4Runner, Toyota's popular sport utility vehicle (SUV).
