Class Action Against Turbodyne Technologies
25 January 1999
Weiss & Yourman Announces Class Action Against Turbodyne Technologies on Behalf of ShareholdersLOS ANGELES, Jan. 25 -- Weiss & Yourman has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of purchasers of Turbodyne Technologies, Inc. securities between March 1, 1997 and January 22, 1999 for violations of federal securities laws. Defendants include Turbodyne and certain of its officers and directors. Turbodyne designs, develops, manufactures and markets proprietary products that enhance performance and reduce emissions of internal combustion engines and manufacture aluminum cast automotive products, including engine components and aftermarket specialty wheels. The Complaint charges that defendants violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10-b(5) by, among other things: issuing false misleading statements regarding Turbodyne's financial condition as well as its present and future business prospects. Defendants did not disclose, among other things that Turbodyne (1) did not possess any patents on any radically new technology in emissions reduction or increased power output; (2) had virtually no actual sales of products; (3) did not receive a designation from the United Nations Flag Technology Program; (4) was not endorsed by the United Nations Development Programme; and (5) had purchased its single product, a purportedly revolutionary supercharger, for only $500,000 worth of Canadian penny stock. Because of the false and misleading statements, the members of the class purchased Turbodyne stock at artificially inflated prices. Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of class members and is represented by the law firm of Weiss & Yourman who has significant experience and expertise in prosecuting class actions on behalf of investors and shareholders. If you are a member of the class described above, you may, no later than March 2, 1999, move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff, if you so choose.
