COAST Suspension Control System Targeted for Next Generation Military Vehicle

SAN DIEGO--March 17, 1999--AimRite Holdings Corporation announced that it is working with the National Automotive Center (NAC) to apply the COAST(tm) suspension control system to military vehicles. NAC identifies the dual needs of the military and industry and then forges partnerships that will provide innovative new technologies. The COAST system has been targeted for its new COMBATT truck program (COMmercially BAsed Tactical Truck). As part of the COMBATT program, AimRite will deliver a COAST system this summer for evaluation with additional systems to be delivered next year. By 2002, the Army expects to build 25,000 to 50,000 vehicles annually and the COAST system, if adopted, will significantly improve the ride comfort, speed and performance of all military vehicles.
A successful outcome to this program means that the Army will have modified a commercially available super duty pickup truck to perform as close to the HMMWV (Hummer) as economically feasible. Success also insures significant design and performance improvements in the millions of future SUVs -- vehicles in constant demand by a steadily growing and savvy commercial market.
The COAST (Computer Optimized Adaptive Suspension Technology) suspension control system uses Variable Constant Force(tm) to achieve unparalleled ride luxury, safety and performance for virtually all automotive, truck, bus and RV applications and will be the Original Equipment Manufacturer's choice for suspension control well into the next millennium.
