General Motors Continues Fight Against Breast Cancer; - Concept:Cure Already Raised $2.6 Million -

SAN FRANCISCO/LOS ANGELES--March 19, 1999-- General Motors takes Concept:Cure, its program dedicated to help raise funds for breast cancer research and awareness, to California with major mall events. Coordinated by Chancellor Marketing Group, Chevy Cavalier is hosting two events: March 20 at the Shoreline Village Mall in Los Angeles and April 3, at Pier 39 in San Francisco, the number three attraction in the United States.
During the events, visitors will have the opportunity to see the sleek, retro Chevy Cavalier convertible designed by Max Azria for BCBG, and to make a contribution for the cause and/or register to win this exclusive vehicle. Sprint PCS will make donating easy by providing cellular phones for participants. All proceeds will go to the General Motors Cancer Research Foundation. "Awareness and education on breast cancer is critical for every woman," said Dianne Hemminger, GM's Assistant Brand Manager.
GM developed Concept:Cure with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as an extension of its relationship with the fashion industry and to demonstrate its commitment to women and the issues that are important to them.
