For model years 1996-1998, 2,400 cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles were evaluated by IntelliChoice to establish the best overall value. Already the best-selling small car in America, the Civic has received the honor of Best Passenger Car Value and Best Overall Car Value for used cars for two of the last three years. "The Civic's reputation for dependability, quality and reliability in a fun-to-drive package makes it a popular choice for new and used car buyers," said Dan Crowe, remarketing manager for American Honda. "The Civic also holds its value better than any other subcompact on the market." Earlier this year, IntelliChoice named the 1999 Civic in three categories for "Best Overall Value of the Year" awards. The Civic DX sedan was named Best Car Value under $20,000, the Civic CX/DX/HX coupe, sedan and hatchback models were honored as Best Subcompact under $14,000 and the Civic LX/EX coupe and sedan models were named Best Subcompact over $14,000.
